Omeprazole reduces the amount of acid produced in your stomach. It is widely used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and peptic ulcers.
Used to manage heartburn, acid reflux, erosive esophagitis, gastric/duodenal ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Provides relief from burning sensations, promotes healing of the esophagus and stomach lining.
Irreversibly inhibits the proton pump (H+/K+-ATPase) in gastric parietal cells, shutting down the final pathway of acid production.
Store below 25°C in a dry place. Protect from light and moisture.
Do not use it for more than 14 days continuously for self-treatment without consulting a doctor.
Long term use should be monitored by a doctor, as it can cause low magnesium levels and vitamin B-12 deficiency.
It is best taken in the morning on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before breakfast.
